Where have we been? SUROUNDED BY CUPCAKES & CAKES :-)

It’s been a while since we’ve had a chance to stop and smell the roses as they say. Starting your own business can be both rewarding as well as demanding. If you don’t know us personally, we also have 2 small boys (age 7 & 10) so essentially we are running double duty running a new business and a young family. But, we are having a blast and all kinds of new things have been happening for us.

First of all our cake business has grown beyond we could imagine. Yes I did say cakes. Our little cupcake store was just that when we started…cupcakes only. But as time rolled on, we were continually asked to convert cupcake flavors to cakes and the next thing we knew we had a line up of people asking us about cakes.  Now to keep it in perspective we are not your typical bakery that punches out massive fondant style cakes, we are more of a “at home bakery” that creates fun cakes that pack a “WOW” of flavor.

 

 

 

 

 
These are just a couple of examples of cakes that we do, but most of our designs are custom cake creations from customer requests. Now of course a little more about our cupcakes….We’ve grown to over 50 different flavors with a couple of new ones like Turtle Brownie Cupcake, Pralines and Cream cupcake, and a few others but remember that certain flavors only come out at different times of the year. Summer time we have Blueberry Bliss cupcakes, Strawberry Vanilla cupcakes, Raspberry Vanilla Cupcakes, where as when fall comes along we will be doing Pumpkin Patch cupcakes, Fall Foliage Cupcakes and more.

And of course our 2 minutes in the spotlight. We created a Canadian flag out of cupcakes for Langley City, KISS cupcakes for the band, Sesame Street cupcakes for big bird, Elmo, and a few other of their friends, and coming up we are making cupcakes for Maroon 5 and Train.

And our biggest excitement was Chad Kroger’s (lead singer of the band Nickelback) mom came in to our store to buy cupcakes for the band to take out to them one night and dropped off a couple of signed guitar pics! Of course we had to drop a hint to her and ask her to let the boys in the band know we have cupcakes on the house anytime they want them, so stop on by.
